Monday, March 2 is the first day for Democratic, Republican, NPPO, and candidates nominated for county and township offices to file nomination papers/affidavits with the county auditor for the June 2 Primary and November 3 General elections.

Friday, March 20 is the last day to file with the county auditor for NPPO candidates and candidates nominated by petition for county offices (Board of Supervisors, Auditor, and Sheriff), township officials, county hospital trustees, and Soil & Water Conservation Board.

Wednesday, March 25 is the last day to file with the county auditor for Democratic and Republican candidates for county offices (Board of Supervisors, Auditor, and Sheriff).

Wednesday, August 26 is the last day to file with the county auditor for County Ag Extension Council and county party ballot vacancies.

The specific number of signatures required to run for certain offices is posted here and on the Floyd County Auditor’s webpage:  http://www.floydcoia.org/…/Election-Voter-Registration-Info….  Candidate Guides, Nomination petition and affidavit forms can be obtained at the auditor’s office or the Iowa Secretary of State’s website:  https://sos.iowa.gov/elections/candidates/index.html.

This all can get sort of confusing so feel free to call the Floyd County Auditor’s office at 641-257-6131 if you have questions.
