[ARCHIVED] LAND ASSESSMENT CHANGES FOR 2015

Floyd County has incorporated the new CSR2’s in the valuation of agricultural land for 2015. When compared to the original CSR, we found some soil types went up, some when down and some had no change. However, the average CSR in Floyd County went from 74.0 to 80.

Floyd County also incorporated Administrative Rule 71.3 in the valuation of its non-cropland. We originally adjusted non-cropland but not the building site. We now incorporate the building site as non-cropland and make the adjustment as set forth in the administrative rule.

You may have also noticed some class changes. We now have a new class of property called Multi-Residential. Properties that have habitations such as apartments, nursing homes and assisted living are no longer considered commercial but are now multi-residential.

If you have a building that is a retail space and apartments, you are now considered dual class. The retail is dual commercial and the apartments are dual multi-residential.

If you have any questions, please call or email the Assessor’s office.
