The Floyd County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing on the proposed maximum tax levy for the fiscal year 2023-2024 budget. At the public hearing any resident or taxpayer may present objections to, or arguments in favor of, the proposed tax levy. After adoption of the proposed tax levy, the Board will publish notice and hold a hearing on the proposed county budget.
The proposed tax rates do not include county voted levies, debt service levy, and the rates of other local jurisdictions. Regarding proposed maximum dollars, the Boar of Supervisors cannot adopt a higher tax asking for these levies following the public hearing. Budget year effective property tax rate is the rate you would be assessed for these levies if the dollars requested is not changed in the coming year.
