Rudd Storm/Tornado Response Information
December 16, 2021 2:00PM
Water – If you have water pressure, use the water to flush toilets. Showers and bathing are permitted. Do NOT drink any city water. A “Boil Water” order is in effect until further notice.
Sewer – Flush toilets if you have water pressure.
Electricity – Alliant Energy will be working to restore power as quickly as possible. Due to power lines in trees, the process will be slow. Portions 6th Street – from the highway to the highway west, with the exception of the worst damaged areas, may be restored by this evening.
Generators – If you have an emergency generator powering your home/building, be certain the circuits are isolated from commercial power. We cannot have generator power back-feeding into commercial system.
Natural Gas – No problems are known regarding the natural gas distribution system.
Debris Management (FOR IMPACTED HOMES ONLY) –
If you need assistance with debris removal, call 641-220-3659. Will attempt to assign volunteer resources as soon as possible.
Take pictures of your damages – many pictures. You may need them later!
Beware of hiring help. Do not pay in advance of any work. Know what costs will be before agreeing to any work projects.
Until power is restored, open refrigerators and freezers as little as possible.
There will be an informational Town Hall meeting at the Rudd Fire Station, beginning at 5:00PM.
Be very careful doing any work. Your safety is a paramount concern!!
