Weapon Permits

A weapon permit must be applied for in the county of residence.   ID's are now mailed to you directly from the State Of Iowa. 


Iowa Non-Professional Application to Carry Weapons

      *     Permit is $50.00 and good for five (5) years
            
      *     Renewal fee is $25.00

      *     Eligible for renewal 30 days prior and 30 days after expiration.  However, permit is not valid after expiration date and after 30 days, the renewal fee is $50.00.

REQUIREMENTS:

      *      Photo ID

      *      Criminal background check

      *      Must have a valid DD214 or Certificate of Completion from a weapons class

Download and print the following document and return it to the Floyd County Sheriff's Office or your local Sheriff's Office.  The document must contain your orginal signature and be delivered in person.

       *      Permit is $25.00 and good for five (5) years

REQUIREMENTS:

        *     Photo ID     

        *     Criminal background check

        *     Eligible for renewal 30 days prior and anytime after expiration.  Only fee is $25.00
