Jail
The Floyd County Jail is located on the 4th floor of the Floyd County Courthouse along with the Sheriff's Office. Contact the jail at, 641-257-6217.
The Floyd County Jail is under 24 video security.
VISITATION is a privilege, not a right. This privilege is subject to be withdrawn at any time by jail corrections staff.
Visitation hours are as follows:
January 24, 2022 ***NO in person visitation is allowed at the time.**
Visitors shall secure all prohibited items including, but not limited to, cell phones and purses outside the facility or they may have them checked with the jailers upon entrance. The Floyd County Sheriff's Office is not responsible for lost/stolen property. No video equipment, cameras, cell phones, or other recording devices are allowed in the jail.
Each visitor must bring their picture ID or driver's license. Persons under the age of eighteen (18) are prohibited. Do not bring children unless someone else is watching them, children are not to be left unattended. Only one (1) visitor per inmate at a time. Vistors may only visit one (1) inmate per day.
Each visitor will sign in and out per day.
Inmate personal property will not be released to visitors without written request or permission from the inmate.
COMMISSARY
Commisary is when inmates are allowed to purchase items that are available, such as personal hygiene items and snacks.
Inmate commissary is on Tuesdays. Phone cards are handed out on Wednesdays.
Money may be deposited in an inmate's account Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 4:00 PM, excluding holidays.
PHONE
All inmate phone calls are recorded, except confidential calls between an attorney and client.
Inmates are allowed phone services and may make collect calls or with prepaid phone cards.
Family and friends may use the phone service, (Encartele, 1-886-476-6723) to set up an account which will allow outside minutes to be added to a phone number that an inmate can call.
All mail is subject to routine screening., Any mail that is detained by jail staff will be put in the inmate's personal property.
Inmates are given 2 prepaid envelopes and paper per week. They are allowed to purchase more from commissary.

Inmates are allowed 3 pictures (NO Polaroid's). NO stickers, stamps or envelopes are allowed from family or friends. All correspondence should be on white lined or white computer paper. Any money sent to an inmate should be in the form of a money order. Inmates may also receive NEW in package; white socks, white t-shirts, white underwear and white bras.
